  Ridiculous Talk Given By CO

  my mother told me of the co giving a talk and telling everyone to get their hankies out because they would be sure to cry, which evidently some did.. a 5 year old boy was dying in the hospital and his parents were by his bedside.

  he was drifting in and out of consciousness and then he opened up his eyes and asked his mother if he was a catholic.

  the mom told her son he was not.

  Law of Attraction

  just wondering if it is okay to practice the law of attraction as per the book "the secret".

  if you are committed to jehovah, would the law of attraction simply be something to improve your life but at the same time staying grounded with god.. is this to be avoided by brothers and sisters or is it okay if you do practice it knowing that jehovah did create the laws of the universe.

  i can't find anything in any past watchtower or awake articles.

  the organiztion wants you to obey in everything because you are here asking the questions you are asking tells me theres brain activity in your head. thats good satisfy it. you don't have to make any permanent decisions at this time about truth consider yourself a person on a quest for knowledge. read whatever you want. what I do is I have three catagories in my head what I am pretty sure of, my I don't know information catagory, and my I decided this isn't right. the second catagory is very large and I just keep filling it up. Don't ask for permission it's your life and future and your responsible for it.

  i thought i'd heard it all after spending a life time in this organization.

  but for me the following statement uttered at the weekend circuit assembly takes the prize.. during the "pioneer talk"......the speaker said that pioneering enhanced jesus's spirituality.. to imagine that a made up thing like pioneering would enhance the spirituality of the christ.

  to those who still believe in christ ....this is so presumptious and proposterous........i just fell off my seat.. it tells me how this organization and its governing body have set themselves up so high .....that they could tell the christ how to live..

  Does the JW Cult Rob People of Their Humanity!

  well for those of you who many not know i gave birth to a beautiful baby boy on the 31st jan, however our joy soon turned to concern when it was discovered our son had breathing problems.

  this concern later turned to fear as we learned that he had a congenital diaphragmatic hernia (cdh) and that he would need an operation asap.. basically our baby had a hole in his diaphragm and most of his digestive system now resided in his left chest cavity compressing his heart and lungs into the remain space in the right cavity.

  this is a very serious condition and much of the information we were given made very bleak reading.

  over the years it slowly happens. one day you realize you've been manipulated into a cold viewpoint. one time an elder called and wanted us to take his parents to the meeting because he had to leave town his sister had been in a serious accident I expressed concern and his reply was oh she's not a witness. I thought thats cold another time a woman at the hall told me her sick institutionaized son had died I again expressed concern and her reply was at least now he'll get a resurrection I thought again that's crazy! over time you realize their trying to make you a hater of humaity.

  Life On Hold: The CO Visit Week

  did anyone have to cancel a vacation trip because it was on co visit week?

  i still don't get why the co visit was as if god himself was in town.

  is it kinda like if the pope were to visit with catholics?.

  the week before some elder would get up on the stage and say "were all looking forward to a week of increased activity" we would think no no no some people seemed excited some seemed scared or maybe reverential not being raised in the org I never quite understood what was so special about him he was just some additional elder who came around once in awhile and we had to endure more meetings and talks.

  I used to here people say "I would serve jehovah even if he wasn't going to give me everlasting life because I love him so much" that's crazy then he's a monster besides I would always bring up the scripture in hebrews about belleving he is and is the rewarder of those seeking him so w/o a reward theres no point that would often disturb them.

  i can hardly believe the prices they're getting for pristine copies of those books they handed out to those of us with scalps populated with lice, hands and fingers encrusted with bits of jelly and dried mud.

  they're getting between $100 and $200 per copy.. thanks to google images, i couldn't resist taking another peek between some of those charming colored pages as a reminder to what we were actually exposed to in trying to make us literate.. most of these look contemporary to when i went to school -- the 1940's.

  one of them may go back into the 1930's.

  I was inelementary school in the fifties and I remember them well "see spot run run run run" I was a fan of nancy drew books of course the bobbsey twins and a book called a wrinkle in time. I watched mickey mouse club, fury, the little rascals, andys gang, crusader rabbit I'll stop here.
